Worktop cutting and fitting

From professionally cutting your new worktops to replacing old with new, it’s all in a days work...

For cost conscious customers that want to achieve a quality result, we can help.

We supply time, expertise and complete installation tooling on a per day basis at a cost of £200* or £120* per half day excluding materials.

Planning on a per day basis allows us to give advice, make any necessary adjustments to the installation, cut your laminate, wood or solid surface worktops with appropriate cutouts and edge visible ends.

Generally laminate worktops for most kitchen layouts can be cut and fitted within a day.  Wood and other solid surface worktops (see box) may take longer due to the complexity of the design (undermount sinks, drainer grooves, edge detail etc) and finishing such as polishing or oiling.

For a quote on your particular requirements, including the option of us supplying your new worktops (see box for supplier web sites with colour charts) or for us to collect them from your chosen supplier, contact us.

About the types of worktop

Laminate worktops are both hard wearing and the best value option.  They come in a wide range of finishes, edge details and sizes but are limited to inset sinks.  See Artis, Axiom or Bushboard for colour choices.

For a more natural effect and wider design choice such as undermounted sinks, choose wood, granite/engineered stone or solid surface.

Nothing beats real wood such as Beech, Oak, Cherry or Dark Acacia.  With the correct care, solid wood worktops will last for many years and will mature into a deeper and richer hue over time.

Granite is unmatched for its many colours and natural beauty.  For a more contemporary finish, engineered stone such as Zodiaq or Technistone both boast ‘family proof’ stain resistance, uniform colours and finishes.

Solid Surface worktops such as Corian, Silica, SmartStone, Encore, Mistral and more are made from a combination of natural minerals and acrylic resin. Using a special jointing solution, joints appear seamless and should the worst happen, worktops can easily be repaired.  They are designed for ultra-hygienic performance and easy maintenance.

Granite worktops allow the sink bowls to be under mounted making the work space look bigger.  The sink and draining area was subtly recessed to define the wet area.  Kitchen designed, supplied and fitted for Mr. & Mrs. Foster
